During childhood, she discovered an interest for drawing. Many of her childhood memories relate to the pleasure of drawing and creating. She pursued the study of fashion design and graphic design to express her artistic talent. Although her years working with architects and designers in graphic design environment may have been beneficial to her development as an artist, they did not fulfill her passion to devote herself entirely to art.
Her first real experience with painting did not occur until 2001. When she began, she passed all her free time painting and produced numerous works which were known only to her.
In 2005, she was fortunate to have the privilege to study under the renown painter Emmanuel Garant. This experience significantly improved her confidence in her artistic talent. At this point in her career, she strove to provide insight into the human soul by capturing the human expression. She was attracted to subjects of many different nationalities but had a particular passion for the intensity and spirituality of tibetans.
In 2007, her talent was recognize by a galery owner who gave her the opportunity to exhibit her work. Around that time, there was a gradual shift in the focus of her work from concentrating primarily on facial expression to concentrating on the work as a whole. The creation of her work is founded on an intensity of sensual femininity that cannot easily be ignored. Recently, she has made the decision to dedicate herself full time to her artistic pursuit.
Looking foward to a future filled with short term and long term projects, she is motivated by her creative instinct. Her goals include the opportunity to exhibit worldwide and become known internationaly as an artist. In Canada, she has been recognize by numerous honors. Since 2005, Josée La Roche has exhibited her work in a number of art galeries and she has participate in many events and exhibitions. As a result of this exposure, her work have been dispersed to a number of foreign countries including Australia, Panama and United-States through the sale of her works.
